Wang Huning emphasized at the symposium celebrating the 30th anniversary of the launch of Guangcai undertaking that promoting the Guangcai undertaking would better add luster to China’s modernization.

On October 14, a symposium celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Brightness Program was held in Beijing. Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, attended and delivered a speech. He emphasized the importance of adhering to Xi Jinping’s Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee. The focus remains on advancing national development and revitalizing the nation through modernization with Chinese characteristics, as well as encouraging the wealthy to assist those in need to foster common prosperity and improve the Brightness Program’s contribution to development on this new journey.

Wang highlighted that over the past 30 years, particularly since the 18th National Congress, the Brightness Program has seen sustained growth and development under the strong leadership of the Central Committee. He pointed out that the initiative has effectively contributed to achieving a moderately prosperous society, supported the fight against poverty, and consolidated the outcomes of poverty alleviation efforts while promoting rural revitalization. Additionally, this initiative has injected new momentum into the healthy development of the private sector, created a platform for guiding private entrepreneurs’ growth, and introduced innovative measures for the United Front work, showcasing the political advantages of the Communist Party of China and the strengths of the socialist system.

Wang also stressed the need to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important directives regarding the Brightness Program and the Central Committee’s requirements. He underscored the program’s role in guiding the ideological and political development of private entrepreneurs, serving major national strategic tasks, and facilitating common prosperity. He called for a strong political, ideological, theoretical, and emotional identification with the Communist Party and socialism with Chinese characteristics among private entrepreneurs, encouraging them to become qualified builders of this socialist cause. He urged participants to accurately understand the mission of the Brightness Program on the new journey, uniting private entrepreneurs as pioneers of high-quality development, advocates of common prosperity, and leaders in promoting entrepreneurial spirit, contributing further to Chinese-style modernization.

The meeting was presided over by Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and the Minister of the United Front Work Department. Gao Yunlong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, also attended. Approximately 150 participants included officials from the United Front Work Department and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as representatives from the China Huimin Association and private entrepreneurs. Four representatives voiced their opinions during the meeting alongside officials from the Beijing and Guangdong provincial branches of the Brightness Program.
