On October 24, the China Railway Kunming Group announced some impressive statistics regarding the China-Laos Railway. Since its launch in December 2021, the railway has operated over 60,000 passenger trains and has served more than 41.2 million travelers by October 23, 2024.
In terms of daily operations, the railway has reached a peak of 85 passenger trains in a single day, transporting nearly 90,000 passengers, showcasing its significant transport capacity and market appeal.
This year, the passenger traffic on the China-Laos Railway has surged dramatically. From January 1 to October 23, over 20,000 passenger trains have been dispatched, accommodating more than 15.7 million passengers.
To meet the growing travel demand, the railway authorities in both China and Laos have been leveraging big data analysis to adapt their scheduling. By implementing a “daily timetable” strategy, they can flexibly adjust passenger capacity and respond effectively to fluctuations in passenger numbers, ensuring a convenient and comfortable travel experience for all.
