In a recent interview, Jannik Sinner, the current world No. 1 in men’s tennis, voiced his surprise over the World Anti-Doping Agency’s decision to appeal an independent tribunal’s August ruling of ‘no fault or negligence.’ Sinner, who tested positive for an anabolic steroid twice in March, emphasized that the banned substance entered his system unintentionally during a treatment session. He explained that his physiotherapist used a steroid-containing spray for a minor cut on their finger, which inadvertently affected him. Speaking to reporters following his quarter-final match at the China Open, Sinner commented, “Maybe they just want to ensure that everything is in the right position.”
