On October 25th, a seminar themed around high-level international openness took place in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. The event gathered scholars and experts from China and Mongolia to engage in in-depth discussions and exchanges on various topics.
During the seminar, over 20 presentations were delivered, touching on themes such as “Mongolia’s Relations with Neighboring India,” “Opportunities for China-Mongolia Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative,” and “The Joint Declaration on Developing Comprehensive Strategic Partnerships and Mongolia-China Political Relations.” These discussions spanned multiple fields, including politics, diplomacy, literature, and cross-cultural communication, with participants sharing their research findings and insights.
Dr. Dahubai Yila, Vice President of Inner Mongolia University, highlighted the establishment of the Mongolia Research Center at the university in June 2016. This center was created to enhance the integration and service of the China-Mongolia friendship and the Belt and Road Initiative. The center was recognized as a key research base in philosophy and social sciences by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2018 and as a national research center for Belt and Road regional studies in 2020. It was recently revalidated as a key research base in August 2024, marking its significant contributions to fostering friendly relations and cultural exchanges between China and Mongolia.
D. Zayabater, Vice President of National University of Mongolia, noted, “The two universities have made positive contributions to the friendly establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Mongolia, serving as a bridge for cooperation across various domains.”
Baiyin Mende, Director of the Mongolia Research Center at Inner Mongolia University, who has dedicated over 30 years to the study of Mongolia, shared his observations of the increasing collaboration between the two countries at both the governmental and grassroots levels. “Since the establishment of our research center, we have been committed to promoting friendly cooperation between China and Mongolia in various fields, while also providing intellectual support for policies affecting both nations and regions.”
“We aim to create a more open, inclusive, and pragmatic platform for academic exchange between China and Mongolia through this seminar. We hope that this event serves as an opportunity for scholars from both countries to strengthen their cooperation and conduct in-depth research, contributing further wisdom and strength to the high-level openness of our nations,” added Professor Yaru from the Mongolia Research Center at Inner Mongolia University.
