The third cross-strait agricultural cultural exchange event opens in Changsha

On October 21, the third Cross-Strait Agricultural Cultural Exchange Event and the Hunan-Taiwan Integration Development Forum took place in Changsha, Hunan Province. Around 240 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, representatives from civic organizations, and young leaders from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered to explore cooperation and development opportunities in agriculture, culture, and tourism, aiming to promote their interconnected growth.

The event, themed “Integrating Agricultural and Cultural Tourism for a Brighter Future Together,” featured a variety of engaging activities, including agricultural cultural experiences, site visits, and discussion sessions. This diverse program offered Taiwanese participants immersive experiences and face-to-face interaction, with the goal of deepening collaboration across agricultural, cultural, and tourism sectors.

Zeng Zhifu, Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Hunan Province, warmly welcomed friends from Taiwan, encouraging them to visit Hunan, settle down, and tap into broader opportunities for development. He expressed hope for deeper collaboration between enterprises and associations from Hunan and Taiwan in modern agriculture and cultural tourism, emphasizing that Hunan will continue to create a favorable business environment for Taiwanese communities and enterprises.

During the forum, Hunan announced a new batch of job openings tailored for Taiwanese compatriots. A total of 66 positions across 49 branches of 18 state-owned enterprises in Hunan were made available, aiming to recruit 83 individuals in fields such as machinery, electrical engineering, legal affairs, and design. With this, Hunan has offered a total of 1,304 job openings for Taiwanese compatriots this year, providing opportunities for 4,545 individuals to work in the province.

Lin Yisheng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of Taiwan’s New Party, and Executive Vice President of the National Association of Taiwanese Enterprises, stated that as a national organization for Taiwanese businesses, they are committed to creating opportunities for Taiwan entrepreneurs on the mainland and building platforms for young Taiwanese seeking jobs and startups in the region. He hopes that more Taiwanese businesses and individuals will come to Hunan to thrive and mutually benefit from the development.

The opening ceremony showcased a performance of the traditional Changde Silk String music titled “Love in Xiaoxiang,” highlighting scenic spots such as Taohuayuan, Mount Heng, and Dongting Lake, and celebrating the beauty and cultural richness of Hunan. Young representatives from both sides also collaborated to perform a version of “Blue-and-White Porcelain” using the Changde Silk String style.
