The course, nestled between the picturesque landscapes of Nanning—often referred to as a “green city”—allowed participants to experience the harmonious coexistence of urban life and nature.
In a thrilling finish, Matej Mohoric from the Bahrain Victorious team showcased exceptional teamwork, crossing the finish line first to clinch the victory in Nanning’s circuit race.
With the conclusion of the Nanning stage, the overall standings of the 2024 Tour of Guangxi were determined. Young rider Lennart van Eetvelt from the Lotto Dstny team secured the first place in the overall classification, thanks to his impressive individual points. Oscar Onley from the DSM-Firmenich-Post NL team took second place, while Alex Bodan from the Decathlon AG2R team finished third. The best team award for this year’s World Tour went to the Emirates Team.
Additionally, the women’s road cycling part of the Tour of Guangxi also kicked off on the same day in Nanning, featuring a distance of 134.3 kilometers, mirroring the men’s race. A total of 18 teams participated, with Sandra Alonso from the Ceratizit-WNT team emerging victorious.
